For The Greater Good

Those of us in red states know the level of propaganda that is being fed to us any time we try and contact our representatives to ask them for help right now. We ask them to protect our data, our rights and our foreign interests with their voices and actions in D.C. but all we get told in response is that:

 “This is for you. This is for the greater good.”

We all know different. And if you do not then you have fallen for a lie that has unfortunately captured millions of Americans. President Donald Trump and Elon Musk do not have your interests at heart. President Donald Trump has sold out his country to feed his narcissistic soul and Elon Musk has grabbed up our people to mold them in the likeness of a racist regime that fell once before and will fall again. If your chest clenches up when this is pointed out, face it. If you don’t feel sturdy in your belief then you believe in nothing. You only hear and blindly take it.

We have been sold out. There is no wait and see, that is a coward's excuse. He who saves his country, breaks no laws apparently. But he who sells his brother's soul faces condemnation. The measure of a man is what he does to the weakest, and the President, no, our whole government, has shown that their cup is empty. They have been playing pretend when they bring that chalice to their lips this whole time.

We are told that President Donald Trump is just doing what Presidents are allowed to do. He is just doing what Presidents have always done. But what former president pardoned insurrectionists that tried to kill politicians and overturn a fair election? What former President made everything an executive order instead of working on legislation so that everyone’s interests would be represented? What former President said that everything is up to them? What former President dismantled government agencies starting on day one?  What former President decided that Canada is our enemy, after the help they gave us after 9/11? What former President sided with Russia? What former President has made it very clear that you cannot say anything against them?

Theodore Roosevelt said it best:

“To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but it is morally treasonable to the American public. Nothing but the truth should be spoken about him or anyone else. But it is even more important to tell the truth, pleasant or unpleasant, about him than anyone else.”

You have only to go back a few chapters in our history to see that this is not normal, and this is not for the greater good. Remember.

The words I have to say to every member of the GOP are as follows;

Alexander Hamilton said it best when he stated that “The nation which can prefer disgrace to danger is prepared for a Master and deserves one.”

 Right now, is a turning point for all of you. Those of you who refuse to maintain your morals to avoid the danger posed, you would rather the disgrace and scorn. Your constituents cry out for protection, and you turn a blind eye. You are men who stand for nothing.

Our honor has been sacrificed and our reputation burned beneath it. You alone have let this happen. Do not look to your left or to your right, look only at yourself because you have not stood up. You have done what you wanted, and you cannot place the blame at the feet of the commoner. A nation's lifeblood is its honor in its dealings, and you have let our allies be forgotten while the wolves begin to devour even yourselves.

There is a constitutional crisis while you argue amongst each other and say pretty lies to cover your part. The deal has been struck and like Faust’s mistress we, not you, will be left to pay. At what point will you drop the pretense and admit you have turned your back on your people for a little silver?

The office you hold has changed, and you have let it. We have let it, becoming complacent and calling for the same name to take the responsibility that they have shirked. Gone are the politicians who truly built houses (Jimmy Carter), who sacrificed their interests and in some cases their lives to check in on their people (Leo Ryan Joseph, Jr. 1978. Jonestown.) We have been cheated; we have been sold, and we get a funny meme for our trouble. Your positions used to mean something; they used to be positions of power. You are now the line that holds the peoples interests up for the beast to swallow. You are impotent.

For those of you who are not politicians, but are instead civil servants, federal or state employees, your resignation is not a protest it is submission. Tacitly accepting the firings of those who fought to stay as acceptable. When all those left bend the knee, there will not be one who stands up tall.

There is not an enemy at our gates, it is those who break bread with us on holidays and give words of comfort. An outside threat we could endure but it is our own that seek to eat us whole. We did not ask for this, and you never asked if we did.

Our closing words are these; do not think that you will not be affected by the chaos you introduce. You support your own destruction. Today the people you do not know have suffered, but tomorrow always comes.
